Unfortunately, our visit to UCLA could have been managed by Walt Disney...perfect weather, gorgeous campus, beautiful girls, best college tour ever, his pole vaulting hero goes there & won the meet we watched, ranked #1 in college food, etc. It will be a miracle if this 18-yr-old chooses Cal, which is clearly the better choice for him in every OTHER way. He had been set on nuclear--not even offered at UCLA. :::sigh::: This is yet another case of sitting back and watching him make his own mistakes--I mean choices. ;~)

LTNS, Jared. Gotta question for ya. My son is considering Cal Poly SLO, Harvey Mudd, UCLA, UCSB, and your alma mater for engineering. Given that particular spectrum, would you still recommend Cal?

It is all relative Jared. They are too stupid to know that the better way than their " house value...is if they had more money of theirs to spend in the first place. Like if they did not have to pay for fuel, and they could get paid for what they grow in their backyards and textiles were cheap !
